DISCOVER THE SOUTH LAKES

Our cottages are in the Central and Southern lakes. They are close to all the attractions that the Lake District has to offer.

Well what about the walks? I hear you say! We love the walk to Hampsfell from Fell View and High Dam from Woodside and we round them off with a visit to The Pheasant Pub in Allithwaite and The Swan at Newby Bridge.
We visit the cottages every 6 weeks to check on them and enjoy the area, and we work very hard to provide wonderful holiday cottages where you can truly relax.

One of our favourite places to visit is Cartmel. The village store is famous for being the “Home of Sticky Toffee Pudding”

Just imagine…

Just imagine, if you stay at Woodside, you can take an early morning walk up to High Dam. One of the most peaceful lakes, that was much favoured by Alfred Wainwright where you can marvel at the solitude and serenity of this stunning location!

Or if you’re staying at Fell View stop for a coffee at one of the many cafes in the area or head to Cartmel and wander its ancient streets!

You can visit Hawkshead or Bowness on Windermere for a bit of retail therapy! All are so easy to reach.

Perhaps you’re like Hugh, my middle son, always looking for something challenging? So just imagine the fun you can have at Grizedale Forest’s  Go Ape, Segwey or mountain biking or just come for the scenery!

Stayed with my children, parents and our dog. Beautiful cosy cottage in a great location. Access to local swimming pool and gym included with the stay. Close to some lovely places to eat and visit. Alison sent a great list of local recommendations.

Cosy Cottage, well kept . Location is good, however outside seating space is not ideal as front door leads a to an access drive and garden space is sperated by drive . seating at back of the house face the parking lot . Apart from that lovely cottage neat and clean . Windows didnt open so it got a bot hot. On departure, we were instructed to strip all the bed sheets etc. as Cleaner had a dust alergy , this was a chore, as we dont do this at home .

Wonderful stay and is definitely worth five stars. The location is quiet and perfect for seeing all that the area has to offer. There are some lovely walks close by and some excellent pubs, we especially liked the Swan. The cottage was a perfect home for the week for our family of 2 adults, 4 children and one small spaniel. It has everything we needed and was lovely and cosy on wet days. The beds are comfortable and the cottage is beautifully decorated. Will definitely stay again

Woodside Cottage was beautiful, well equipped and extremely clean and tidy. It was in a good location with so much to do. I would recommend this cottage. To note, if you have a dog, the main garden area is about 6 meters from the front door, across a private driveway (not belonging to Woodside Cottage). There is a small, enclosed, patio garden with direct access to the back door.

Beautiful home so clean and comfortable totally spoiled by the huge main bedroom bed! Lovely spot you can see the coast and the garden is a sun trap!Full equipped kitchen it had all you need and so peaceful too.The spa that comes in the price which is 15 mins away so not far at all is in need of updating it is looking tired so don’t expect 5 stars there but it’s good for a quick swim and sauna the staff need to do some safety checks (nails on the floor in the sauna and the steam will burn the back of you leg if your sat in the wrong spot) I would say some regulations there now are well out of date, I’d recommend crocks in the sauna and pool side (we did tell the staff) the pool is cold but manageable, ok if you don’t mind that.The pheasant down the road (5 mins walk) is lovely you must go! Dogs everywhere! Loved it! Over all Alison’s home is so comfortable, homely and so clean, perfect location we would come again in a heart beat.

Lovely place with good parking for 2 vehicles, spotlessly clean, good sized bedrooms, nice stocked fire in living room, friendly and helpful hosts. Easy spa access to which was 5 minutes up the road.Great place! Would highly recommend!
