DISCOVER THE SOUTH LAKES

Our cottages are in the Central and Southern lakes. They are close to all the attractions that the Lake District has to offer.

Well what about the walks? I hear you say! We love the walk to Hampsfell from Fell View and High Dam from Woodside and we round them off with a visit to The Pheasant Pub in Allithwaite and The Swan at Newby Bridge.
We visit the cottages every 6 weeks to check on them and enjoy the area, and we work very hard to provide wonderful holiday cottages where you can truly relax.

One of our favourite places to visit is Cartmel. The village store is famous for being the “Home of Sticky Toffee Pudding”

Just imagine…

Just imagine, if you stay at Woodside, you can take an early morning walk up to High Dam. One of the most peaceful lakes, that was much favoured by Alfred Wainwright where you can marvel at the solitude and serenity of this stunning location!

Or if you’re staying at Fell View stop for a coffee at one of the many cafes in the area or head to Cartmel and wander its ancient streets!

You can visit Hawkshead or Bowness on Windermere for a bit of retail therapy! All are so easy to reach.

Perhaps you’re like Hugh, my middle son, always looking for something challenging? So just imagine the fun you can have at Grizedale Forest’s  Go Ape, Segwey or mountain biking or just come for the scenery!

Found a little gem for a family including dogs. Excellent location with plenty of walks from the doorstep. If you like eating great pub on the doorstep. Only a 30 minute walk into Cartmel which went from a tearoom to a Michelin starred restaurant. Grange-over-sands walkable or only a 5 minute car journey. Even though weather was changeable we were able to take full advantage of the area due to location. Windermere only a 30 minute drive away. This is definitely a property we would stay at again if coming back to the area.

Alison was a lovely host! She messaged us lots of information before the arrival and also provided catalogs with information in regards to the house and close by visiting points or places to eat. The place was spacious and dogs were allowed only downstairs during the stay. The trip was wonderful and we benefited of a swimming pool close by drive distance. Alison also got in touch to let us know that we forgot an important item which was kindly appreciated.

Thank you so much for an excellent stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the Lake District and your cottage is a great base with everything close by. We really appreciated your recommendations as well as letting us check in slightly earlier. Your beds were just the comfiest and the quality of the linen was wonderful. We had excellent sleeps each night. The extra big bed in the master was such a treat! The cottage is in a little residential area, meaning it is quiet and peaceful in a picturesque location. We loved your cosy fire and appreciated the little extras in the kitchen like salt and pepper and teabags. We would certainly stay again and have recommended your place to our friends.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The cottage is absolutely stunning — full of charm, warmth, and character. From the moment we arrived it felt welcoming and incredibly comfortable. The beds were so comfortable with high-quality bedding and pillows, and every room was beautifully decorated. The little touches and thoughtful details throughout — from the decor to the small items provided — made it such a lovely and memorable place to stay.Alison’s communication from the start of the booking was amazing — she was very accommodating and outstanding throughout. She gave clear instructions on how to get to the property, including photos, and provided a lovely list of places to visit, which we did and would highly recommend. It’s clear she cares for the property with so much attention, making our stay truly relaxing and enjoyable. If we were to go back to the Lake District, we would 100% book with this host again.
