This beautiful round trip from Bowness can be taken as a 90 minute non-landing cruise.
Alternatively you may disembark at either Lakeside or Bowness Pier and return on a later boat. Each cruise includes a fascinating commentary on the history, attractions and points of interest surrounding Windermere.
Take in the islands of Windermere
A 45 minute circular cruise from Bowness, enjoy contrasting scenery of mountains, wooded shorelines and lovely tranquil bays.
Sail from Bowness to Ambleside or vice versa
This beautiful round trip from Bowness can be taken as a 70 minute non-landing cruise.
Alternatively you may disembark at either Ambleside, Brockhole or Bowness Piers and return on a later boat.
Each cruise includes a fascinating commentary on the history, attractions and points of interest surrounding Windermere.

The modern launches on this route (marked red on timetable below) stop at Brockhole on the eastern side of the lake on their way up to Ambleside. Alight here for the Lake District Visitor Centre that includes attractions for the whole family and boat passengers enjoy free entry. Please note that the red cruise does not stop at Brockhole when travelling southbound from Ambleside, simply return from Brockhole to Bowness via Ambleside.

This best value cruise ticket is valid on all scheduled sailings and is valid for 24 hours from time of purchase or when you exchange your online e-voucher for your ticket at the piers.
The ticket is valid on all of the cruises including:

- Yellow Cruise (Bowness < > Lakeside)*

Explore the beautiful western shore at your own pace on foot.
Combine a stroll along the peaceful western shore with a cruise across Windermere. This convenient ticket allows walkers to create a circular walking loop and can start/finish at Bowness, Brockhole or Ambleside.
Ambleside > Wray Castle > Walk to Ferry House (4 miles) > Bowness > Ambleside
Starting at Ambleside you take a traditional wooden launch to Wray Castle jetty. Before you begin your walk you could visit Wray Castle which is owned by the National Trust and is now open to the public, but please note that the entrance fee is not included in our ticket price. You then take the path left of the boathouse to follow the lake shore south to Ferry House. Catch the Cross Lakes Shuttle back from Ferry House to Bowness where you can stop off for a cup tea and slice of cake at the Pier Cafe before catching the third boat of the day back to Ambleside.
Bowness > Ambleside > Wray Castle > Walk to Ferry House (4 miles) > Bowness
Alternatively, you can start at Bowness, sail north to Ambleside and catch the traditional wooden launch to Wray Castle Jetty and then follow the lake shore south to Ferry House as above. Catch the Cross Lakes Shuttle back to Bowness for your third boat trip of the day.
